This is a personal project — a gig-poster and album redesign for the album ”Forgiveness Rock Record” by Broken Social Scene, one of my favourite bands from the 2010s.
BSSs music has a quite happy and energetic sound, yet the lyrics are somber and bittersweet, and i wanted the imagery to express this. The illustration is a visualisation of the contradictory idea “to explode forgiveness”. I went with an organic expression, though with contrasting elements in the imagery. The colour palette enhances the bitter sweetness from the lyrics, and the imagery itself is made to incite and awaken curiosity.
