WEBDESIGN PROJECT
@HOME
When I joined @Home, the webshop was running on Magento 2. While powerful, the platform proved far too complex for a small, independent store without an in-house developer. The site had originally been designed and maintained by a former employee with technical expertise, but it soon became clear that we needed a more user-friendly and future-proof solution.
Our goal was to find a platform that would be easier to manage on a daily basis, deliver stronger SEO performance, provide a modern design framework, and offer a more flexible CMS. After reviewing several alternatives, we identified Shopify as the solution that best fulfilled these needs.
Solution
I rebuilt the website in Shopify and, to meet our requirements, integrated a range of apps to extend its functionality.
A key priority was optimising the customer journey, particularly making the sofa ordering process as simple and intuitive as possible. This was a challenge, as each sofa came with a complex set of customisation options: up to 300 fabric choices across five price categories, five to nine different leg designs, four seating comfort levels, and the option of fixed or removable covers.
It was therefore essential to present this information in a clear, user-friendly way that guided customers through the process without overwhelming them. It was also important to make all key information about delivery times and shipping costs easily accessible to customers, helping them make informed decisions and complete their purchase.
