ALBUM COVER DESIGN

Om Tålmodighet

As first flutist Norway, Henriette Eilertsen has a BA in performing jazz. After her years at the Norwegian academy of music in Oslo, she has been exploring the role of the jazz flute in the present day music scene.

Henriette hired me to design the cover for her first full length album “Om Tålmodighet”. She wanted a design inspired by traditional rose painting, but with a more modern twist and fresh vibrant colours. She liked my work for Fugleadvokatene and wanted flowers in the same illustration style. Keywords were patience and attention to detail.

Henriette was nominated for Spellemannsprisen in 2025 for this album in the Jazz category.

Solution

I went for a square repeating design based on the inspiration material provided by the client. I hand-drew 1/8 of the illustration with Posca markers, then duplicated and further worked on it digitally. I wanted the final result to have a hand-crafted touch with its imperfections, which is why I chose hand drawn illustration as opposed to digital illustration.
