@HOME
Re-branding
Re-branding of local interior and furniture store in Oslo. Established in 2006, this independent store has its main focus on sofas and furniture in a Scandinavian style.
Existing design was done in-house by a tech-savvy employee, and the logo was a font that the owner liked. For the redesign I was instructed to not sway too far away from the original design, as the owner was worried they would lose brand recognition after having had the same logo for 10 years. The owner wanted a fun and quirky aesthetic, to differentiate from the clean and somewhat monotone look of competitors like Bolia etc.
Solution
I modified the existing font by removing the serifs to move away from the original typography’s Asian aesthetic. I wanted to give the new branding a fresh and scandinavian feel, while still giving homage to the original logo. To give the logo a unique and recognisable character, I combined the @ symbol with a house to represent a sense of home.
I introduced a turquoise colour palette and modern typography that better complemented the refreshed visual identity. I also introduced slightly tilted boxes that would be used as design elements in all promotional materials.

Content creation
When I joined @Home in August 2017, the Instagram account had only around 400 followers and lacked a consistent style or content. The images were poorly lit, relied on heavy filters, and failed to reflect the high-end Scandinavian furniture the store was selling.
Solution
I began sourcing high-quality images directly from the brands we worked with, since the shop itself had poor lighting and limited space for photography. I also reached out to previous customers who had taken beautiful photos in their homes and asked for permission to feature them on our Instagram page. My focus was on building a consistent grid that showcased a wide variety of products — from sofas, dining tables, and chairs to smaller interior accessories. I photographed the showroom and carefully styled, edited, and cropped the images to highlight the products while minimising the dense look of the space. The goal was to create a cohesive and clean visual profile with bright, colourful, and stylised imagery.
In addition, I produced campaign videos that incorporated design elements from our posters, which were used as ads to attract new customers. I also created product videos highlighting and explaining specific sofa models, such as the Alva modular sofa, to be posted on instagram. I made shorter videos showcasing products in a fun and quirky way, made to connect with the audience, like the promotional video featuring a collection of our lounge chairs for our Easter campaign. Other examples of videos I made is a 3-for-2 sofa cushion deal, filmed in the showroom.

Webdesign
When I joined @Home, the webshop was running on Magento 2. While powerful, the platform proved far too complex for a small, independent store without an in-house developer. The site had originally been designed and maintained by a former employee with technical expertise, but it soon became clear that we needed a more user-friendly and future-proof solution.
Our goal was to find a platform that would be easier to manage on a daily basis, deliver stronger SEO performance, provide a modern design framework, and offer a more flexible CMS. After reviewing several alternatives, we identified Shopify as the solution that best fulfilled these needs.
Solution
I rebuilt the website in Shopify and, to meet our requirements, integrated a range of apps to extend its functionality.
A key priority was optimising the customer journey, particularly making the sofa ordering process as simple and intuitive as possible. This was a challenge, as each sofa came with a complex set of customisation options: up to 300 fabric choices across five price categories, five to nine different leg designs, four seating comfort levels, and the option of fixed or removable covers.
It was therefore essential to present this information in a clear, user-friendly way that guided customers through the process without overwhelming them. It was also important to make all key information about delivery times and shipping costs easily accessible to customers, helping them make informed decisions and complete their purchase.
